Texas is the second largest state in the United States in terms of size and population. Located in the south central region of the country, Texas borders Louisiana in the east, Arkansas in the northeast, Oklahoma in the north, and New Mexico in the west. In the southwest are the Mexican states of Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, Tamaulipas, and in the southeast there is the coastline of the Gulf of Mexico.
